SYOH YOSHIDA_ Artist, Painter
By fusing traditional japanese painting techniques and modern graphic design concepts, Yoshida has meticulusly developed a neo photorealistic style and portrayal for his beloved subjets, nature and townships, in his extradinarily reminiscent black and white paintings. His choice of unusual materials, such as white shell powder, has not only brought a sheer visual enhancement in terms of their aesthetics, but has also given this particular media an air of contemporay quality.
Syoh Yoshida was born 1984 in Aichi Prefecture, Japan and currently lives and works in Kyoto. He graduated from the Faculty of Arts and Design at Osaka Seikei University, where he learned and matured his craft in both Japanese painting and Graphic Design. Since his first solo exhibition 'Beautiful Thing' in Kyoto in 2006, He has been expressing his love and devotion for nature and townships primarily through his unique and striking black and white paintings. He has also participated in several high profile and successful solo and group exhibitions throughout Japan in recent years.
